Altar Call app and girmahouse.com. Last updated 24 October 2026.

Altar Call is published by Michael Iddio, an individual developer in New South Wales, Australia, under the name Girma House. Contact: altarcall@girmahouse.com.

The short version

The Altar Call app collects nothing about you. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics and no advertising software. Your prayer list stays on your phone. On this website, the only information we keep is the email address you choose to give us, and only if you tick the consent box.

The Altar Call app

Your prayer list

Your list, journal, prayed days and settings are stored only on your phone, encrypted with a key kept in your phone's secure storage (the iPhone keychain or Android Keystore). We never receive them. If you use encrypted iPhone backups, your list and its key go with you to a new phone through Apple's backup. You can export your list yourself, and Settings > Erase everything deletes it.

Recordings

The prayers and Bible readings you hear are pre-recorded. Some download from our audio host, Cloudflare, the first time you play them, along with the next week ahead. Each request asks only for a file by its name. Nothing about you, your list or your prayers is sent. Like any web server, Cloudflare receives your device's internet address to deliver the file; we don't keep request logs.

Reminders and the widget

Reminders are scheduled on your phone. The home-screen widget shows today's verse and, only if you turn it on, one name from your list. Neither sends anything to us.

Tips

Optional tips are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We receive no payment details. Tips unlock nothing.

Links

The app can open our book's page on Amazon in your browser. Amazon's own privacy policy applies there.

This website

Email sign-up

If you give us your email and tick the consent box, we store your email address, where you signed up and when, in a database hosted by Cloudflare. We use it only to tell you when Altar Call is available and about other free things from Girma House. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and we delete your address on request. We never sell, rent or share it.

Visits

We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page visits. It doesn't use cookies or track you across sites.

Children

The app is suitable for everyone and collects nothing. The website sign-up is meant for adults.

Your choices

You can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing altarcall@girmahouse.com. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. If you're unhappy with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
